- 02It issues on the spotStandard holders get their link immediately. Endorsement requests are approved instantly when your policy forms already carry a blanket endorsement; otherwise the carrier is asked and the page shows the status.

The problem with the PDF
A certificate of insurance is a snapshot. The moment a policy renews, cancels or changes, every PDF you ever sent is wrong, and the holder has no way to know. So they ask again, every year, often in the week you are busiest, and the agent takes a day or two to produce the same document with new dates.
What a live certificate shows
- The insured's name and address, and the agency of record.
- Each coverage line serviced by CoverMatch: carrier, policy number, term, key limits, and a status of Active, Cancels on a date, Cancelled or Expired.
- The holder's own status: certificate holder, additional insured, waiver of subrogation, primary and non-contributory, and whether each is in place or waiting on the carrier.
- A "checked at" timestamp, a Verify button that re-checks on demand, and a QR code so a printed copy can be scanned back to the live page.
- The standard disclaimer that a certificate confers no rights and does not amend coverage, plus a PDF download.
What happens when coverage changes
Holders who have asked to be notified get an email when a line is scheduled to cancel, cancels, is reinstated, renews or expires. The notice says what changed and links back to the page. You see every notice in your wallet, and you can turn notifications off per holder.
Endorsements without the wait
Many contracts ask for more than a certificate: additional insured status, a waiver of subrogation, primary and non-contributory wording. Whether those can be granted instantly depends on the policy forms. If your policy carries a blanket endorsement for what the holder asks, the request is approved automatically and the page shows it. If not, CoverMatch asks the carrier for a scheduled endorsement and shows the status as pending until it arrives.
Who sees what
Only people with the link see the page, and the link is a long random token, not a guessable number. Holders cannot see other holders, your other policies, your premium, or anything beyond the certificate itself.
